Karen's Diaper Cover
Here is my pattern for the diaper cover. If you make this, please let me know if you find any mistakes.
Karen's Diaper Cover
Baby Yarn
G Hook
Chain 11
Row 1: Dc in third chain from hook, dc in each remaining 9 chains, ch 3 and turn.
Row 2: Dc in base of chain 3, dc across and 2 dc in top of last chain. (12 dc's counting your chain 3's)
Chain 3 and turn.
Row3: Dc in base of chain 3 and dc across ending with 2 dc in your chain 3. ( count will be 14) Chain 3 and turn.
Row 4-11: Repeat row 3, increasing 1 on each end. End off at end of row 11. There should be 30 dc across counting ch 3.
Now turn you work so your starting chain is the top.
St into first chain. Chain 3, dc in each chain across with 2 dc in last chain. 10 dc counting your chain 3.
Chain 3 and turn.
Repeat Row 3, increasing 1 on each end till you have 11 rows. Like the other end, there should be 30 dc across counting ch 3.
Sc all around the edges, join and finish off.
NOTE: You can also make 2 pieces and sew together at the crotch
.
Ties: Change 32. Make 4 ties. Sew ties on the 4 ends.
Ruffles: On the back side, 3rd row from the top, between the 6th & 7th dc from the right side, slip stitch to join at the base and chain 3, sc on the other side of the 7th dc, chain 3. Sc between the 7th & 8th dc, chain 3, repeat across leaving the last 6 dc's unworked. ( You are simply picking up stitches and doing ch 3, sc, ch 3 to make the ruffle.)
Work 2 more rows of ruffles directly below the first row.
