Another Cuddle Sack

Here is another cuddle sack I crocheted using my Simple Shell Cuddle Sack pattern. Also today we donated 86 hats and baby items to the Help 4 Kids program here in the Myrtle Beach area.

I started crocheting a baby blanket yesterday when a small light bulb turned on over my head! I stopped right there and started making another cuddle sack. Here is the results.

Size:  10 x 18 inches

Shell Stitch: 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc

Round 1. Ch 4, sl st to close, 12 dc in ring. Join with a sl st to first dc. (12 sts)

Round 2. Ch 2,(do not count as first dc) 2 dc in each st around. Join with a sl st to first dc. (24 sts)

Round 3. Ch 2, *dc in 1^st dc, ( same st as your ch 2) 2 dc in next st,* repeat from * around. Join with a sl st in first dc. (36 sts)

Round 4. Ch2, *dc in 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * around. Join with a sl st in first dc. (48 sts)

Round 5. Ch 2, *dc in 3 sts, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * around. Join with a sl st in first dc. (60 sts)

Round 6. Ch 2, *dc in 4 sts, 2 dc in next st,*  repeat from * around. Join with a sl st in first dc. (72 sts)

Round 7. Ch 3, (counts as dc)  dc in next 6 dc, sk 2 dc, *shell in next dc, sk 2 dc, dc in next 7 dc, sk 2 dc.* Repeat from * around. Join with a sl st in first dc.

Rounds 8 - 32. Ch 3, dc in next 6 dc, sk 2 dc, *shell in ch 2 space, sk 2 dc, dc in next 7 dc, sk 2 dc.* Repeat from * around. Join with a sl st in first dc.

Round 33. Ch 1, sc in each dc and ch 2 space around. Join with a sl st and finish off. Weave in any ends.

HAT

Round 1. Ch 4 sl st together, ch 2, (do not cound ch) 16 dc in center of ring, sl st to 1st dc. (16 sts)

Round 2. Ch 2, 2 dc in same st, 2 dc in each dc around, sl st to 1st dc. (32 sts)

Round 3. Ch 2, dc in same st, *2 dc in next st, dc in next st,* repeat from * around. Sl st in 1st dc. (48 sts)

Round 4. Ch 3, dc in next 6 dc, sk 2 dc, *shell in next dc, sk 2 dc, dc in next 7 dc, sk 2 dc.*  Repeat from * around. Join with a sl st in first dc.
