Blue Baby Bubbles Cuddle Sack with Hat Pattern


Here is the pattern for the Baby Bubbles Cuddle Sack and Hat I designed. This pattern is untested, so please if you find any mistakes, let me know.


BABY BUBBLES CUDDLE SACK AND HAT


Made with Lion Brand Yarn, Pound of Love, about 7 oz. with a H hook

Round 1: Ch 3, 12 dc in the 3rd ch from hook. Join with a slipstitch in first dc. (12 sts)

Round 2: Ch 2, (do not count as first dc from now on), 2 dc in each st. Join with a slipstitch in first dc. (24 sts)

Round 3: Ch 2, *dc in 1 st, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * around. Join with a slipstitch in first dc. (36 sts)

Round 4: Ch 2, *dc in 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * around. Join with a slipstitch in first dc. (48 sts)

Round 5: Ch 2, *dc in 3 sts, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * around. Join with a slipstitch in first dc. (60 sc)

Round 6: Ch 2, *dc in 4 sts, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * around. Join with a slipstitch in first dc. (72 dc)

Round 7: Ch 2, *dc in 8 sts, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * around. Join with a slipstitch in first dc. (80 dc)

Round 8: Ch 1, sc and 2 dc in same st. (first dc), sk 2 dc, sc, 2 dc, in next dc, *sk 2 dc, sc, 2 dc in next dc;* repeat from * around. Sl st into first dc, ch 2. Turn (Can use a stitch marker if needed to mark beg and ending of rounds.)

Round 9: Sc and 2 dc in next sc. *sk 2 dc, sc and 2 dc in next sc,* repeat from * around. Sl st in first sc, ch 2 and turn.

Repeat round 9 until sack measures about 15 to 16 inches. Sl st and ch 1. Sc around top. St st and finish off. Weave in any open ends.

Note: When changing color, be sure to crochet at least 2 or more rows before changing color again.

BUBBLE BABY HAT

Round 1: Ch 4, sl st to form a ring. Ch2, (doesn't count as 1st dc) 12 dc in ring, sl st in top of first dc to join. 12 stitches

Round 2: Ch 2, (doesn't count as 1st dc) 2 dc in each st around, sl st in top of first dc to join. 24 stitches

Round 3: Ch 2, (doesn't count as 1st dc) 1 dc in same st as join, * 2 dc in next st, dc in next st* repeat from * around. Sl st to join. 36 stitches

Round 4: Ch 2, (doesn't count as 1st dc) 2 dc in same st as join, *dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st * Repeat from * around. 48 stitches.

Use a stitch marker to mark the rounds.


Round 5: Ch 1, sc and 2 dc in same st. Skip 2 dc, *sc, 2 dc in next dc, skip 2 dc* repeat from * around. Ending with skip last 2 dc and sl st into first sc. Chain 2 and turn. .

Round 6: *Skip next 2 dc and sc, 2 dc in next sc* Repeat from* around. Sl st in next sc, ch 2 and turn.

Round 7 - 10: Repeat round 5.

Round 11: At end of row 10 just ch 1, turn, sc in each st around, join and finish of. Weave in any loose ends.

  1. Karen, I love all of your items that you crochet and the beautiful Loomed Hats!! I have completed both of your cuddlesacks that you designed. The directions were easy to follow and they came out great!! I will be sending them to GTA probably late next week. I will let you know when I do so you can see them when Danette posts the pictures. I have not learned how to post pictures yet. Also, I was wondering if the Easter dresses with the flared double crochet and shell skirts were your design or did you purchase the pattern. They are beautiful. Would you please let me know where you go the pattern if it is still available. Thanks.

  3. I am trying to make the Bubble Baby Hat. How many stitches are in row 5 thru 11? In Round 5 is the SC done in one stitch and 2 DC in next DC or are they both in the same DC? Not working out for me.
