4 Ply Soft Yarn (Simply Soft, I love
This Yarn etc.)
Round 1: Ch 4, slip st together, ch 2, (Do not count ch 2) 12 dc in center of ring, slip stitch to 1st dc. (12dc)
Round 2: Ch 2, (do not count as first dc from now on), 2 dc in same st as ch 2 and in each st around. Join with a slip stitch in first dc. (24 sts)
Round 3: Ch 2, *dc in 1 st, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch in first dc. (36 sts)
Round 4: Ch 2, *dc in 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch in first dc. (48 sts)
Round 5: Ch 2, *dc in 3 sts, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * around. Join with a slip
Round 6-15: Continue around. Ch 2, dc
in each stitch (60 sts)
Round 16: Ch1, sc in each stitch
around. Finish off. (60 sts)
Take a long piece of yarn (about 36
in.) thread a needle and push it into the top of round 6 and bring it
up through the bottom of the hat and pull tightly, keep repeating
winding until knot looks tight and nice. Finish off and hide the
loose ends under the knot.
Do you think I could use cotton yarn to make these? THANKS!
ReplyDeleteI bet you could but I would go with Hobby Lobby cotton yarn and even then I would soak it in hair conditioner or Downy for about 12 hours before you wash it so it is super soft if it's going to be for a patient. Cotton tends to be rough and heavier.
