Frank's Last Loom Knitted Hats
Here are 59 hats Frank loom knitted. He has to quit working with yarn as he has developed a bad rash on both hands and arms and onto his face. We are pretty sure it is caused from the dye in yarn. He is seeing a dermatologist and is using meds. for the itching and blistering. He has stopped using the yarn for several days now and his face has cleared up and his hands are showing improvement. He is so unhappy he has to stop making hats. He loves to help children and the homeless keeping them warm in the winter. Right now I got him some adult coloring books and that helps him pass the time.

So sorry to hear this! Would it be possible, after he's all cleared up, that he could still make hats if he wore protection - like plastic gloves? Or find another yarn that he's not allergic to? I hate to see anyone give up a yarn art, although some things just can't be helped. Maybe there's a way to get around this?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your concern but He has already tried gloves and protection. The yarn fibers float in the air onto his arms and face.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he could take up sewing projects? There are many places that would love items such as pillowcases and bags.
